We are one week away from the ever more detailed and intensive phase of the Workday project known as “end to end” testing. The team is actively recruiting “testers” from across campus to assist and serve in the coming weeks as outside observers of the business processes that have been built into W&L’s version of Workday.

“This will put some fresh eyes on the configurations we’ve set up in Workday and get us much-needed end-user feedback on the work done to date”.
Mark Keeley, Director, ITS Projects

Between now and the end of May, in addition to testing, the project team will be focused on Workday Adoption and the tasks associated with development of training materials, training champions, training roll-out, etc. The Steering Committee has tentatively approved a “soft” cut-over to Workday (from Colleague), between June 29th and July 6th.

Office Professionals Network

Among the “training champions” assisting in the upcoming weeks will be the Office Professionals Network. Although not yet an “official” University organization, the group planned their first unofficial event in October of 2017 with the help of Andrea Velasquez, Executive Assistant, President’s Office and Meredith McCoy, former Assoc. Dean of the College.

One facet of the group’s mission is to enhance professional development efforts for W&L staff as well as promote employee engagement, productivity, job satisfaction, and retention. Their group has 129 participating members from across campus, a seven person planning team, and will be key contributors throughout the transition over the coming months.
